"The Writers Guild's Energy and PR Strategy: A Concert-like Ending to the TV Business Bubble"
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) celebrated its leadership and solidarity at a "rock concert" event at the Hollywood Palladium, marking the end of its historic 148-day strike. WGA West president Meredith Stiehm announced the union's tentative new three-year Minimum Basic Agreement, which received a positive response from members. The deal now goes to the WGA's membership for ratification. The event also highlighted the support received from various individuals, including negotiator Ellen Stutzman and comedian Drew Carey. The WGA encouraged members to support SAG-AFTRA, which is currently on strike against the AMPTP.
