Two Fugitives Apprehended After Weeks on the Run
The second of two escapees who broke out of a detention facility in Mississippi has been captured after nearly three weeks at large. Joseph Spring and Michael Lewis went missing from the Raymond Detention Center on May 29. Spring was captured on Saturday by Hinds County Sheriff's Office and the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force. The detention center has faced issues since its inception, with detainees finding ways to damage the physical plant to aid them in escaping. A new detention center is being built, but urgent issues with the existing one need to be fixed.
