Impaired driver crashes into Maryland state trooper in work zone on I-495.
A Maryland State Trooper was injured in a rear-end collision in a highway work zone on the Capital Beltway in Montgomery County. The trooper was taken to Shock Trauma for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the white Mercedes-Benz SUV that struck the patrol vehicle was taken to Suburban Hospital. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. Multiple lanes of the Inner Loop of I-495 were closed and drivers were asked to avoid the area.
