Spreading Fires Cause Traffic Chaos on Hwy 53.
Multiple grass fires along Minnesota Highway 53 caused traffic to stop on Thursday afternoon. Emergency crews and planes were called to the scene to suppress the fires, which burned approximately 15 acres near Canyon and 7 acres near Cotton. Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed for a few hours before reopening just before 6pm.
