"Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: A World of Freedom and Open-World Gameplay"
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the second entry in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project, will feature a "multifaceted world with a high degree of freedom," according to its director Naoki Hamaguchi. While it's not confirmed to be a full open world, players will have the chance to explore the wider world and choose how they tackle missions and side content. The game will pick up after the first game's ending, where our heroes leave the walls of Midgar, and will involve Cloud and company exploring the world map. The game's development is "progressing smoothly and according to plan," and it's expected to release this winter.
