Pablo Celnik appointed as CEO of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the top-ranked rehabilitation hospital in Streeterville, has announced that Dr. Pablo Celnik will become its new CEO, replacing Peggy Kirk who is retiring. Dr. Celnik, currently the physiatrist-in-chief and chair of the physical medicine and rehabilitation department at Johns Hopkins University, will assume his new role on October 16. The AbilityLab has been on a fundraising campaign to honor its previous leader, Dr. Joanne Smith, and recently received a $15 million donation. With 262 beds and over $292 million in net patient revenue in 2022, the AbilityLab serves 50,000 patients annually and has been ranked the No. 1 adult specialty hospital in the country for the past 32 years.
