"PGA Launches Healthcare Initiative with Major Entertainment Companies"
The Producers Guild of America has launched a healthcare initiative to provide health insurance benefits for full-time producers in the film and TV industry, aiming to secure coverage for its members by 2026. Powerhouses such as Blumhouse, Legendary, Macro, and Berlanti Productions have already pledged to include health insurance contributions in their budgets, with the PGA seeking support from companies, streamers, and studios. Unlike other industry guilds, the PGA is not a union and does not participate in collective bargaining, making it challenging to provide consistent protections and benefits to its members.
