Gemini-Powered Google Translate Brings Smarter Text and Live Headphone Translation
Google is embedding Gemini AI into Translate to produce more natural, context-aware translations (better handling of idioms, slang, and tone) across English and about 20 languages, with a beta live-translation feature for headphones that preserves cadence and emphasis; the headphone feature is currently Android-only with plans to reach iOS later in 2026, while AI features also extend to search results.
