"Fatal Texas School Bus Crash: Driver Admits Drug Use and Little Sleep"
The driver of a concrete truck that collided with a Hays ISD school bus, killing a pre-kindergarten student and another motorist, admitted to using marijuana and cocaine and getting very little sleep, according to court records. The crash injured 51 people, with four in critical condition, and the bus driver has been hailed as a hero for her actions. The bus did not have seatbelts due to its 2011 model, and new buses have been fitted with belts since 2017.
