Imam urges Israelis to persevere in Tunisian pilgrimage despite deadly attack.
Hassen Chalghoumi, a Tunisia-born interfaith activist known as "the peace imam," has urged Israelis to continue the annual pilgrimage to Tunisia's El Ghriba synagogue despite a recent terror attack that killed four people. Chalghoumi, who has participated in the pilgrimage before, said the attack was part of a movement designed to drive out the Jews who live in Djerba, where the synagogue is located. He added that resisting this attempt is a way of standing with the Jews of Djerba.
