Fatal Tour Boat Incident in Lockport Caves Prompts Safety Concerns
Lockport police have identified Harshad Shah, the 65-year-old president of the Budget Host Inn in Niagara Falls, as the victim in Monday's capsized tour boat incident in the Lockport Caves. Shah was one of 29 passengers on the boat when it flipped over, and nearly a dozen others were sent to the hospital. The tour was organized by Destination Niagara USA for hospitality workers to experience Lockport's attractions. CEO John Percy expressed his shock and emphasized the importance of safety standards in all attractions.
