Apple's Key Hardware Innovator, Steve Hotelling, Retires
The Apple executive responsible for breakthrough hardware technologies such as multitouch, health sensors, Touch ID, and Face ID is retiring from the company. Steve Hotelling, who has been with Apple for two decades, played a significant role in the development of innovative technologies used in the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro headset. His responsibilities will be distributed among other executives, with Alan Gilchrist taking over the camera and depth sensor teams, and Wei Chen taking over display technologies. Apple's hardware technologies group continues to work on various projects, including a custom 5G cellular modem and a non-invasive blood sugar sensor.
