Dog Dash at Olympic Cross-Country Sprint Falls Short of Medals
A Czechoslovakian Wolfdog named Nazgul briefly dashed toward the finish during the women's team cross-country sprint qualifying at the Winter Olympics, behind Croatia’s Tena Hadzic. Race officials captured him; Hadzic said it was harmless and noted it could matter more in finals. The owner said the dog wanted company rather than glory, and the incident didn’t affect results since dogs can’t medal.
