Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur's film, Gumraah, collected only Rs 1.25 crores on its second day, bringing the two-day total to Rs 2.35 crores nett. The low numbers are a cause for concern for the Bollywood film's box office performance.
Mrunal Thakur replied to a Twitter user who said he won't watch Gumraah as he had already seen the original Tamil film Thadam. She urged him to watch it for her and co-star Aditya Roy Kapur. Gumraah, a Hindi remake of Thadam, released on April 7 and features Thakur playing a police officer for the first time. The film had a poor opening day, earning only ₹1.10 crore domestically. The Hindustan Times review called it an overlong episode of a television show.
