Sweden Secures Group G Victory, Sets Up Clash with USA
Sweden defeated Argentina 2-0 in their final Group G match at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, securing their spot as group winners and setting up a Round of 16 match against the United States. Argentina's World Cup run came to an end as they needed a win to advance. Sweden rested many of their starters and made nine changes to their starting lineup. Both of Sweden's goals came in the second half, with Rebecka Blomqvist scoring on a header in the 66th minute and Elin Rubensson converting a penalty kick in the 90th minute.
