Navigating New York City's Gridlock Alert Days during the UN General Assembly
The New York City Department of Transportation has announced that there will be 19 days of gridlock in Midtown Manhattan due to the UN General Assembly. Commuters are encouraged to use public transportation and alternative modes of transportation to minimize congestion. Bike lanes along First and Second Avenues will remain open, but riders should expect security checkpoints and occasional traffic freezes. The Gridlock Alert days span from September to December.
