Velasquez Freed on Parole in 2022 Attempted-Murder Case Tied to Son’s Alleged Abuser
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez has been released on parole after about 11 months in prison for his 2022 shooting attempt connected to the man accused of molesting Velasquez’s son. He was sentenced to five years in prison with four years of probation, with time served credited, and is set to continue restitution and civil proceedings related to the case as Goularte’s criminal matter proceeds. Velasquez retired from MMA in 2019 with a 17-3 record.
