Street Legal Maserati MC12 Race Car: How It Happened.
One of the 12 Maserati MC12 race cars has been turned into a street car by Ai Design, and it participated in this year's Gold Rush Rally on the West Coast with Team Loan Sharks. The MC12 Versione Corse has a 745 horsepower derivative of the Enzo V12 with a higher, 8,000 RPM redline than the street cars. Ai Design had to make the car capable of finishing across from the bottom of America to the top, including adding an EDO Competition brake upgrade, Ferrari Enzo A/C unit, upgraded electric system/lights/fuel system, street suspension/wheels, and an overhead systems pod. The car finished the rally, driving all the way from San Diego, California to Coeur d'Alene in Idaho, despite catching on fire due to the paint protection film heating up.
