The global chip shortage has eased, but the demand for semiconductors is expected to grow as technology advances. Private investments topping $210 billion are expected to create around 44,000 jobs in the industry. While U.S. domestic production is expected to increase in the near future, competing abroad with Taiwan could take some time. Lawmakers and experts agree that it's not just semiconductor manufacturing that needs to step up, but also U.S. manufacturing for products requiring chips.
