Two Arrested After Deadly Gila River Police Shooting
Gila River Indian Community Gov. Stephen Roe Lewis identified 23-year-old Alicen Apkaw as the second victim in a shooting that also killed Gila River Police Officer Josh Briese. The incident occurred during a disturbance call in Santan, Arizona, where multiple gunshots were fired, resulting in the deaths of Briese and Apkaw, and injuries to several others. Two suspects are in custody, and investigations by the FBI and Gila River Police are ongoing. The community has temporarily banned all dances in response to the tragedy.
