Bruce Bilson, an Emmy-winning TV director whose decades-long career included The Andy Griffith Show, Get Smart, and Hogan’s Heroes, has died at 97 in Los Angeles. A Desilu veteran and the original first A.D. on The Andy Griffith Show, Bilson directed hundreds of episodes across five decades and earned an Emmy in 1968 for Maxwell Smart, Private Eye. He is survived by his wife Renne Jarrett, his son Danny Bilson, and granddaughter Rachel Bilson, continuing a four-generation Hollywood legacy.
