Apple drops lawsuit against former exec who accused spying and started own chip start-up.
Apple has dropped its lawsuit against former chip executive Gerard Williams III, who left the company in 2019 to co-found Nuvia, a chip design firm later acquired by Qualcomm. Apple had accused Williams of poaching employees and secretly starting Nuvia while still an Apple employee, but Williams disputed the claims and accused Apple of spying on his text messages. The reason for Apple dropping the case is unclear, but conflicts of interest may have played a role.
