Apple Drops Lawsuit Against Former Chip Architect and Co-Founder of Nuvia.
Apple has dropped its lawsuit against former chief chip architect Gerard Williams, who co-founded Arm-compatible chipmaker Nuvia. Williams was accused of breaching his contract by plotting to form Nuvia and poach his Apple colleagues to his startup while still working at Apple. Apple's lawyers filed a request for dismissal, but the reasons remain unclear. Nuvia initially focused on the datacenter and server space, but Qualcomm acquired it in 2021 and plans to integrate its Arm-based core designs into SoCs for everything from notebooks to servers.
