Tragic Loss: Georgetown Women's Basketball Coach Tasha Butts Passes Away at 41
Tasha Butts, the women's basketball coach at Georgetown University, has passed away at the age of 41 after a two-year battle with advanced-stage metastatic breast cancer. Butts had an impressive career as a player at Tennessee and went on to become a highly respected coach. Her passing comes as the women's basketball community continues to mourn the loss of former Mississippi State coach Nikki McCray-Penson, who also died from breast cancer. Many college programs participated in the Tasha Tough campaign to raise funds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in support of women who couldn't afford quality healthcare.
