Crucial has launched its T705 series of Gen5 SSDs, featuring speeds of up to 14.5 GB/s and capacities up to 4 TB. The SSDs are based on the latest Phison E26-max14um controller, offering significant performance improvements over the previous T700 series. With 232-layer 3D NAND flash and Micron LPDDR4 DRAM, the T705 series boasts impressive sequential and random read/write speeds, making it nearly 2x faster than the fastest PCIe Gen4 SSDs. The SSDs are compatible with PCIe 5.0 and NVMe 2.0 interfaces, come in M.2 2280 form factors, and are optimized for Microsoft DirectStorage using Phison I/O+ technology. Prices start at $239 for the 1 TB model, with availability expected on March 12, 2024.
