Trailing 5-3 when the inning started, Ty Evans hit a solo home run to make it 5-4, and two batters later, Wyatt Langford crushed a pitch out of Charles Schwab Field to tie the game. The Gators didn't stop there, as they loaded the bases with one out, setting up Heyman's game-winning fly ball to center field.

The defensive front created problems for the offense, and multiple newcomers made lasting impressions. The level of competition created by the newcomers has brought out the best in each room, and the defense has the potential to see major improvement in 2023.

Fifth-year senior Trinity Thomas returned to the lineup and posted impressive scores on uneven bars and vault. The Gators started slow with a fall on their opening routine but finished strong with a solid effort on vault to secure their spot in the finals.
