Rare Blue-Eyed Alligator Hatches in Florida Reptile Park
Gatorland Park in Florida has announced the birth of the world's rarest alligator, a leucistic hatchling with white scales and sparkling blue eyes. Leucistic alligators have defects in pigment-producing cells, making them different from albinos. The baby alligator, a female, was born alongside her normal-colored brother and will be displayed to the public next year. Gatorland Park is seeking help from the public to name the two newborn alligators. The park aims to continue breeding this rare genetic line to raise awareness and promote conservation efforts for American alligators.
