A modder claims to have created the largest map in video game history within Garry's Mod, featuring 2,048 full-scale universes, each with an incomprehensible amount of star and galaxy clusters. The map, built using an existing mod called Infmap Base Creator, uses a design illusion to simulate never-endingness. The mod requires a PC with at least 12 GB of RAM, but best performance is achieved with 128 GB. While currently populated solely by stars and star clusters, the developer promises the next update will bring 2048 solar systems.

Garry's Mod bans Nazi glorification.

Garry's Mod creator Garry Newman has updated the game's server rules to prohibit the display of swastikas, the Nazi salute, or other glorification of Nazism, even for "roleplay" purposes. Newman said his outlook on what should and shouldn't be allowed in online spaces has changed since he became a parent. The new rule came after Newman ran a Twitter poll gauging player interest in banning "Nazi gamemodes" on the game's many roleplaying servers. Newman estimated that those "Nazi gamemodes" were limited to "really a handful of actual players."
