MSI has launched its GeForce RTX 4090/4080 GAMING SLIM series, featuring slimmer and lighter graphics cards with factory overclocking options. The RTX 4090's thickness has been reduced from 77 mm to 62 mm, while the RTX 4080 adheres to a 3-slot specification. The design changes also include improvements to airflow and backplate perforations. No alterations have been made to clock speeds or TDP.

MSI Introduces Slim and Powerful GeForce RTX 40-Series Gaming Cards

MSI has introduced a new family of graphics cards called Gaming Slim, which aims to address the issue of large dimensions in modern GPUs. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Gaming X Slim is considerably more compact than its full-fat counterpart, while still offering similar performance. However, the card is still 2.5 slots wide, so it may not fit in the most densely packed systems. MSI plans to release Gaming Slim versions of its entire GeForce RTX 40-series lineup, including the RTX 4090.
