Niantic is standing by its decision to revamp how Remote Raids work in Pokémon GO, despite backlash from players. The changes are aimed at getting players to interact in person, rather than from home, and to balance the game economy. Ed Wu, Pokémon GO VP, stated that the decision is final and necessary for the long-term health of the game. While some players will be affected, the vast majority find value in other parts of the game beyond raiding. The changes will take place on April 6th, 2023.
