Sega partners with Line Next for an NFT-based web3 game
Sega has partnered with Line Next to license an "immensely popular" intellectual property (IP) for a new web3 game on the blockchain gaming platform Game Dosi. While it is unclear which IP will be used, Sega has allowed third-party partners to create NFT games using some of its franchises. However, the company has been cautious about associating its biggest characters with blockchain titles to protect their value. Sega's co-chief operating officer expressed skepticism about play-to-earn games but stated that the company will continue to invest in blockchain gaming, acknowledging the potential for it to become more mainstream in the future.
