Oregon State and Washington State have reached an agreement in principle with the departing Pac-12 universities, ending ongoing litigation over control of the conference. The agreement includes the 10 departing schools forfeiting an undisclosed portion of revenue distributions for the rest of the 2023-24 school year and providing guarantees against potential future liabilities. The Pac-12 will retain all its assets and future revenues. This settlement allows all parties to move forward and gives Oregon State and Washington State a clearer financial picture as they work to rebuild the Pac-12. The two schools have also made scheduling agreements with the Mountain West Conference and are close to finalizing an affiliate agreement with the West Coast Conference. After a two-year grace period, it is expected that Oregon State and Washington State will recruit enough new members to meet NCAA requirements, potentially through a reverse merger with teams from the Mountain West.
