A new technique has been discovered in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that involves attaching icy meat to your shield while shield-surfing, resulting in a smoother ride and a satisfying sound. This method works better than using a regular ice block, which melts quickly in the sun. However, it only works with normal steak-looking meat and prime meat, and not with any other frozen meat.

Weapon Durability, or easily breakable weapons, are present in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and cannot be disabled. However, players can increase weapon durability by fusing them with durable items like diamonds. The new Fuse ability can also increase durability, but weapons will still eventually break. Accepting that weapons break is part of the game's mechanics, and players can always pick up new weapons after fights or in temples.
