NHRA Summit Nationals: Capps Claims Provisional No. 1 Spot in Funny Car.

The Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals eliminations will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Summit Motorsports Park, with drivers in all four Professional categories ready to chase Wallys and the coveted Summit Motorsports Park ice cream scoop trophy. Last year's winners will be looking to defend their respective titles, including Mike Salinas, Robert Hight, and Erica Enders. Nitro cars were afforded three rounds of qualifying in Norwalk, but Mother Nature played a mean card on Friday, and wet weather washed away the possibility of qualifying passes for the Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle competitors.

NHRA Bristol: Highlights and Updates from the Thunder Valley Nationals.

Justin Ashley and Tony Schumacher will face off in the Top Fuel final round at the NHRA New England Nationals, while Bob Tasca III and John Force will compete in the Funny Car final. Leah Pruett scored a round win over Doug Kalitta in her Rush Truck Centers dragster while also nabbing the provisional pole on a stout 3.74. Tony Schumacher broke the streak of five consecutive opening-round losses and is off and running in his SCAG dragster.

NHRA New England Nationals: Highlights and Results.

Drivers and crew chiefs at the NHRA New England Nationals are coming into Sunday with a lot of question marks. Funny Car's Matt Hagan stands as the most decorated driver at the venerable facility with four previous wins, while Ron Capps and John Force have two wins each. Top Fuel's Tony Schumacher and Steve Torrence have each shown that they know how to win in the Northeast with two previous wins a piece, but no other driver in the class has had a repeat win at New England Dragway.
