Boeing Unveils Final Configuration F-15EX Eagle II with $90M Price Tag
Boeing has flown the third F-15EX Eagle II, which is the first to be built in the final operational configuration. The aircraft, designated EX3, completed the Integrated Test & Evaluation Phase I and is expected to be delivered to the U.S. Air Force soon. The data from the tests will inform the decision for the full rate production phase, which is expected to be announced by the end of the year. The Air Force is also reconsidering plans for the Formal Training Unit for the F-15EX at Kingsley Field, Oregon, and is now planning to acquire 104 F-15EX fighters instead of the initial 144.
