NASCAR's Hamlin Overcomes Penalty, Harvick Disqualified in Dramatic Talladega Race
Denny Hamlin overcame a speeding penalty at Talladega Superspeedway to finish in third place, securing his spot in the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. Hamlin's penalty occurred under green-flag conditions, forcing him to go a lap down. However, he received the free pass during a caution and made a strong rally through the field. Joe Gibbs Racing also faced pit road problems, including a fuel can fire caused by Ty Gibbs and a pit road penalty for Erik Jones. Austin Cindric also incurred a speeding penalty but managed to finish in fifth place. The Cup Series playoffs will continue with the Bank of America ROVAL 400 next week.
