The movie also earned $16.4 million from international markets, resulting in a global opening weekend of $61.6 million. Despite mixed reviews from critics, it is scoring higher with audiences based on its Rotten Tomatoes ratings. The film, co-written and directed by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, sees the Spengler family teaming up with the original Ghostbusters to save the world from a second Ice Age.
