The capacity for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games’ Opening Ceremony along the Seine river will be halved for security reasons, with 104,000 people in stands and 220,000 on raised roadways. French officials had initially planned for 600,000 attendees. An anti-terrorist security perimeter will be established, and airspace around Paris will be closed for five hours on the evening of the ceremony.
