Overlooked youngster may start for Jets' defense.
The New York Jets have yet to add a free safety this offseason, leading to speculation that they may be betting on undrafted free agent Tony Adams to step up and seize the role. Adams, who played mostly on special teams and as a slot cornerback in 2022, impressed in his two starts at free safety at the end of the season, displaying strong tackling and coverage skills. While it is unlikely that the Jets will hand Adams the starting job outright, their lack of activity in the free safety market suggests that they have faith in his ability to compete for the role.
