Evernote Tests Limited Free Plan with 50 Note Restriction
Evernote, owned by Bending Spoons, is testing a new plan that limits the number of notes free users can create, pushing them to upgrade to paid versions of the service. The test, which affects less than 1% of free users, limits them to 1 notebook and 50 notes. While the change is not yet final, it could significantly impact longtime Evernote users who have accumulated hundreds or thousands of notes. The potential limit may prompt users to switch to competing products like Microsoft OneNote or Notion, which offer more affordable plans or free options. Evernote has been struggling for years and underwent personnel cuts earlier this year.
