Ropeless Climber Detained Scaling Seoul Skyscraper
A British man, believed to be George King-Thompson, was detained by authorities after attempting to free climb Seoul's Lotte World Tower, the fifth-tallest skyscraper in the world. He was carrying a parachute and said he wanted to BASE-jump from the top of the building. He reached the 72nd floor before being taken into custody. King-Thompson was previously arrested for scaling the Shard in London and climbing the Stratosphere Tower in 2021. The Lotte Property & Development said the man didn't suffer any major injuries.
