A federal appeals court rejected Elon Musk's bid to toss or modify his 2018 fraud settlement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, leaving in place a consent decree that requires his tweets to be approved by a lawyer before he can post them. The court found Musk's argument that the SEC was exploiting the consent decree "to conduct bad-faith, harassing investigations of his protected speech" to be meritless. The court notes that the SEC has only investigated three of his tweets.
