Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley are set to star in Maggie Gyllenhaal's upcoming film "The Bride!," with Bale portraying Frankenstein's monster and Buckley playing the eponymous bride. The movie, set for release in October 2025, is a Warner Bros. thriller set in 1930s Chicago and also features Penélope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Annette Bening. Gyllenhaal, who directed Buckley in "The Lost Daughter," is helming the project, which has been described as a "big, romantic, deeply romantic, wild, punk monster movie" by Sarsgaard. Meanwhile, another Frankenstein adaptation is in the works, with Guillermo del Toro directing for Netflix.
