Apple Expands 5G Patent Portfolio with Nokia Partnership
Apple and Nokia have signed a new long-term patent license agreement, replacing their prior deal set to expire in 2023. The agreement grants Apple access to Nokia's patented inventions in 5G and other technologies, with Nokia receiving payments from Apple. Nokia owns over 20,000 patents, including 5,500 related to 5G, and offers them on fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory terms. The revenues from this agreement will be reflected in Nokia's Q1 2024 earnings.
