Ancient paintings discovered during kitchen renovation in England
A 400-year-old drawing depicting scenes from the 1635 book "Emblems" by poet Francis Quarles was discovered by a Leeds University medical researcher, Dr. Luke Budworth, while renovating his kitchen in York. The paintings are believed to date back to 1660 and are of national significance, according to heritage organization Historic England. The paintings had spent an unknown amount of time boarded up below the ceiling on either side of Budworth's chimney.
