Founders Brewing faces racial discrimination lawsuit and permanently closes Detroit taproom due to pandemic shutdown.
Founders Brewing Co. faces another racial discrimination lawsuit filed by a Black employee who says she was promoted "purely for optic reasons" and subjected to "egregious racial harassment." Just hours before the announcement of the closure of its Detroit taproom, the lawsuit was filed. Founders released a statement saying the company is "deeply saddened" to learn of the accusations and said it was unaware of the filing when deciding to close the Detroit taproom. This is the second such lawsuit to hit the brewery in five years.
