"Tragic Death of Toddler Linked to Disgraced Lieutenant Jailed for Child Rape"
A 2-year-old girl died after an apparent medical emergency at the home of former Winthrop Police Lieutenant James Feeley, who is in jail on child rape charges. The toddler was found unresponsive and rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Initial investigations show no signs of foul play or physical trauma. Feeley, a foster parent with the state Department of Children and Families, is charged with rape and assault of a child under 12. He confessed to the abuse and is no longer employed by the department.
