Former Michigan Football Star Stops Assault on 80-Year-Old Man
Malik Ali Smith, 20, has been charged with assault with intent to murder after getting into a physical fight with an 80-year-old man in the locker room of the Farmington Family YMCA in Oakland County. Former University of Michigan football star Braylon Edwards intervened to stop the attack, pulling Smith away from the victim. Smith fled but was later arrested and given a $250,000 bond. The victim remains in critical condition, and Smith faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
