Controversial Florida Law Bans Foreigners from Owning Land, Sparks Debate.

Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed laws that restrict foreign ownership of land in Florida, including one that bans Chinese citizens from owning land unless they are also U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The move is meant to counteract what he described as "the malign influence of the Chinese Communist party in the state of Florida". However, the law does nothing to stop the Chinese Communist Party from owning land in Florida through LLCs or other legal vehicles. The legislation has been criticized for discriminating against Florida's Chinese population.
