Google Pixel 7a uses unique Tensor G2 chip variant compared to Pixel 7
Google has used different Tensor G2 variants for the Pixel 7a and Pixel 7. The Pixel 7a uses IPOP, an older packaging method, while the Pixel 7 uses FOPLOP, a newer technology that offers better thermal and electrical performance. The performance difference is negligible in the real world, but the Pixel 7a gets significantly hotter than the Pixel 7 due to different cooling methods.
